I have to admit that I am camera shy. Yes I love taking photographs of myself or even selfies but I always want it to be candid. I want it to the natural and never scripted, directed or choreographed. I have never ever tried posing like a model or even feeling like one. I don't really think I can do it in the first place. But for the sake for this project - this blog, I ask my very famous friend Kuya Olan Emboscado, the man behind the award-winning blog The Travel Teller who is also the Zipline King of the Philippines to do this shoot for me. Luckily, my Kuya Olan agreed and did this shameless photoshoot with me. Hahaha.

DISCOVERING THE HIDDEN TREASURE OF BOSTON
DISCOVERING THE HIDDEN TREASURE OF BOSTON. Not in Massachusetts in the US of A but Boston in the Province of Davao Oriental.
Boston is the neighboring town of my hometown of Cateel. It is just 30 minutes ride from hometown. And like Cateel, Boston is also a place blessed with so many hidden natural wonders to see and enjoy. One of these is this unknown place the local residents called PUNTA BEACH.

POSTCARDS FROM BAGANGA SUNRISE BOULEVARD
What used to be one of the most devastated areas during
Typhoon Pablo is now one of the most visited tourist destinations in the town
of Baganga, Davao Oriental. This is the famed Baganga Sunrise Boulevard.
When Typhoon Pablo ravaged Baganga back in 2012, this
vast mangrove reserve was among the badly hit area. But today these whitewashed
mangroves are living testaments that there is still beauty in the ruined. Strategically
located along the coastal highway of the town, Baganga Sunrise Boulevard is
considered as the prized Tourism Jewel of this coastal town of the eastcoast of
Davao Oriental.

CATEEL, DAVAO ORIENTAL – My Humble Home | My Source of Pride
I was born in Gingoog City in the Province of Misamis
Oriental, the hometown of my father. When I was 7 years old, my family decided
to move to the hometown of my mother – the town of Cateel in the Province of
Davao Oriental. Since then, I consider Cateel as my hometown – my roots, my
humble beginning and my source of pride.
My Hometown of Cateel |
Cateel is a very special place blessed with so many
beautiful places not just to see but to relish. It is a 3rd class municipality
in the easternmost province of the Philippines which is Davao Oriental. It lies
at the very mouth of the Great Pacific Ocean in the East, the green Valleys of
Compostela in the West, the rustic town of Boston in the North and the
municipality of Baganga in the South.

MY PERSONAL TALE OF TRAGEDY, COURAGE AND SURVIVAL
Does anyone of you here encounter a near-death
experience? If so, does anyone of you here today ask, what’s the purpose of
your existence after that horrendous experience? Sometimes, if not all the
times, experiences – whether good or bad – shape every person to become the
very person that he is now and the person that he can become tomorrow.
Cateel Bay, Sunrise 2010 |
Like everyone else here, I am a product of my own
experience and this experience had once tested my will to survive and my capabilities
to face what lies ahead.

WELCOME TO TRIP NI ALEMAR
"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page."
- Saint Augustine
INSPIRED BY THAT QUOTE, here I am now, documenting my humble travels and journeys to the many beautiful places in my region hoping that one day I can also travel and explore the other amazing places in the Philippines and perhaps the WORLD.
I believe traveling is not exclusive to the rich or to those who can only afford to travel. I believed that even young people like me who are still in school juggling between studies and other stuff can also take time to discover places and learn things in traveling.
So, here I am, starting this blog, starting my travels - wishing you can learn from the travels too.
WELCOME TO TRIP NI ALEMAR. This can also be your trip!
